Creepy? Yes. Awesome? YES!
I am not sure how I stumbled upon this but it is from a blog called rarascoincidenciasneoyorquinas Translation: Rare New York Coincidences. Cool right? Right. The blog is run by Mexican native Karii Arreola.
Now if you have been following my blog at all you may know that I have been obsessed with Mexican fashion since my trip to Playa Del Carmen last September. By Mexican fashion I don’t mean embroidered floral mumus and aztec print ponchos, I mean real style and design hailing from MX. So of course I was thrilled to find yet another talented, tasteful Mexican blogger. If you read spanish, I strongly encourage you to check it out. If you don’t read spanish, still check it out and use context clues
I haven’t really been following DFashion week (Mexico City Fashion Week) but Karii posted Maria Vogel‘s collection, which looks pretty fucking amazing.
Gahhh I wish I could subscribe to Nylon Mexico…btw, those shoes were out of this world. drools.
So I also believe that my obsession with Mexican design also stems out of my desire to prove people wrong. I recently had a conversation at work in which I was telling a customer who was moving to Mexico City that I wanted to possibly study and work there. She had obviously not been keeping up with fashion coming out of her native state because her and my coworker (also Mexican) proceeded to tell me that there was no “fashion scene” in Mexico and that they were “behind” in style. I beg to differ.

whaaaaa? So dope. Right? Right!
I truly believe there is great design and talent to be found in every nook and cranny of this world. Now if only someone could direct me to some Guatemalan designers, I could show my people some major props also.
Give credit, where credit is due.
BAM!
Goodnight
