On the runway:
2006 was definitely a standout year for me by Balenciaga. Good to see it is still appreciated. This reminded me that I have one beautiful unworn chiffon Balenciaga blouse in my closet. Truth is, a) at this point it doesn’t really fit, and b) I am terrified of snagging it. :/
I guess I will make that another resolution: to wear the Balenciaga top B got for me like 2 years ago…Good thing its so classically beautiful it’s not gonna go out of style.

Oh hello, It’s mothafuckin 2010 guys! Where has the time gone? Seriously though, where? It might be my pms, it might be that a new year causes me to reflect on the past, but something in me said, “stay in tonight” and there I was sorting through old photographs, memories, feeling a bit melancholy when I recalled a quote from one of my favorite films “All memories are traces of tears” – 2046
So I decided that instead of wallowing in shoulda, coulda, woulda land, I was gonna look up more beauty from director Wong Kar Wai.
Here is what I found.
obsessed with this song right now too:
A little bitty tear will come right into your eye

I had this song stuck in my head all day. It’s so beautiful. I wish I could wail like Wendy Rene, but Lykke and those Perro del mar folks do a really awesome rendition as well.

Merry Christmas!
December 25th, 2009
Well, Christmas eve was fun-ish, we sat around and bullshitted for like 4 hours until midnight aka present opening time! I was pretty happy with everything I received, I mean, how can you not be, you’re getting free stuff! Holla at my mom and B for getting me a sweet bike (cruiser) I’m pretty excited about it. I also got an amazing locket from my aunt, and various gift cards. Oh and of course as expected none of my family gave a shit that I donated what would have been their gifts to a toy drive for needy children. They kind of just looked at me like … ok? At least I felt good about it.
anyway, I have a day off today by default so I am gonna catch up on laundry and hopefully spend some quality time with some friends.
Hope it was a great Christmas for you, and if you don’t celebrate, I hope it was a good day off, and if you have to work, I hope its and awesome day and everyone is extra nice to you.

Not so guilty pleasure ![]()
This vid made me miss, NY, Steph DT, cafe con leche, and youth. I am _ this close to booking a flight to NY in February. Luckily I haven’t drank that much wine yet lol. I have never vacationed by myself before and I kind of want to. Except getting lost on subways is scary with someone else, imagine alone :/ eeek…
…ok I should get to bed. I am trying to get 90% of my Christmas shopping done tomorrow. I decided instead of giving presents that may or may not be stashed away in a corner forever/ regifted, I will use the money to buy a toy for a child for every person on my list that was getting a crappy gift anyway haha. Giving rules!

Treasures
December 9th, 2009
You know that saying “one man’s trash is another one’s treasure,” well in my case this week it was one man’s trashed memories, my treasure. I have a slight obsession with history. More so the story part of history, so when my aunt, mother, and I strolled into this church thrift shop the other day, I was thrilled, no wait, fascinated is more the word, when I saw a stack of old photographs sitting in a basket waiting to be looked at. Why anyone would throw out their photographs is beyond me. I found some really amazing ones. I somehow ended up buying a lot with people and their dogs, or just the dogs themselves.
Here’s a couple I took pictures of.(yes, I lack a scanner therefore a picture of a picture is needed)

"May 15, 1917"- one of the older ones, well of the ones dated on the back

"Lady and Brody, Harbor Island, 3-13-48"
there are a bunch more. I can’t stop looking at them all. They really do captivate. I hope that I am not the only weirdo out there who finds these incredibly interesting. Well, actually I know I am not. Shorpy does too.
Let’s go to the Mooooon Baby
