OMG.

Harwin street  is Houston’s version of New York’s Canal street. The street is lined with hundreds of wholesale accessories, clothing, whatever you can imagine stores. My personal fave is “Accessory Plaza” (good luck finding that, every store on Harwin has some kind of generic name like that) Anyway I went a little nuts. I had to justify all the things I bought for myself by buying mother’s day gifts for all the women in my family. Still like 15 items later I managed to stay under $200. Here’s me getting my J-Lo in “ENOUGH” look going (lol)

One day after drooling over a client’s bejeweled parrot ring from Anthropologie, a coworker and I decided to search online, and by golly did we hit the jackpot, Elery Direct sells the exact same rings and much more at a fraction of the price that they retail for at Anthropologie. Some of the items aren’t that cheap but its still better than retail and Elery’s selection is amazing.

Polyvore is a great site, good time killer, good for being an educated consumer, bad if you have horrible shopping urges like me. I hadn’t logged on in a while but I did today, in an attempt to not get caught up in the gut wrenching Laker vs Jazz game , and got bombarded by amazing new products from a Japanese shop I never would have found on my own.

Diana Vreeland has said some of the most honest things ever.  I had heard her name thrown around before, but it wasn’t before flipping through an editorial featuring some of her most famous quotes that I realized why this woman was so revered. She seems to have had a brutal honesty, which is needed sometimes, especially in the “fashion world.”  I still know very little about this legend but so far I think I quite like her.
